Estartit itself offers a great variety of attractions to keep you entertained. The resort offers glass bottom boat trips from the harbour to the Medes Islands and the shallow coves. Along with this are a great selection of water sports available at the yacht marina and beaches include sailing, fishing, scuba diving, windsurfing, water skiing and jet skiing. The resort has a small fun fair for the younger children and during the summer a large fun fair comes to town. There are also live bands on the beach during the summer. Other things to do in Estartit include, bike hire, horse riding and walking with a number of excellent footpaths include a fantastic walk up on to Roca Maura mountain.
Pirates - The fair is celebrated on the third weekend of September and the streets of the centre are filled with stalls with traditional and craft products. There are activities for the children, parades through the streets, pirate performances, children's workshops and guided tours of exhibitions.
San Juan Festival - This event takes place the 23rd June and is known as the Night of Fire or the Night of Witches. Families get together around the fires on the beach and watch the fireworks, while eating the traditional cake comprising a sweet bread with custard and candied fruit.
Diving & Snorkelling - Thousands flock to the Medes Islands each year to go diving and snorkelling. A group of seven islets just a mile away from the resort there are a good choice of suppliers offering trips and diving packages out to the Islands. The assortment of marine life that can be viewed is varied and includes Sea Bass, Sea Horses, Barracudas, Moray Eels and Groupers.
Sailing - There are trips to the Medes Isles available on glass bottom boats. You can also arrange sailing courses, boat hire, canoes, paddle boards and more by enquiring at Club Nautic Estartit.
Fishing - For some excellent beach fishing head to the mouth of the River Ter at the end of Platja de la Platera. Deep sea fishing trips are also available and can be booked in the resort near the marina.
Kite Surfing - The popular sport of Kite Surfing is popular in the resort. Lessons can be booked locally through a Kite Surf School based in Els Griells. Paddle boards are also available.
Walk over the Rocamaura - There are some super little walks around the area of Estartit including a trail over Rocamaura and Torre Moratxa. Taking in some stunning sea views along the way.
Walk along Los Griells - There is also a lovely walk starting in the town that takes you along La Platera and up along the Ter Vell river.
